Atlanta jewelry designer Mark Edge discovered his passion for making one-of-kind jewelry the eighth grade in Birmingham, Ala., when he enrolled in a jewelry-making class “just for fun.”

In high school, he sold pieces to local boutiques. Soon after graduation from the University of Alabama with a marketing degree, he launched Mark Edge Jewelry.

Celebrities like his timeless yet edgy pieces that work with jeans and dresses. So do teens and hip grandmothers.

In his distinctive designs, Edge uses bold combinations of reclaimed metal and wood, old stock chains and vintage crystals.

His new eco-vintage collection of necklaces, bracelets and earrings incorporates a variety of older American coins.

The necklace (above) features a stainless steel chain ($196) and a 1941 silver half-dollar, which is 90 percent silver. See and shop his varied collection for women and men at

In the Atlanta area, check Peridot, 514 E. Paces Ferry Road or The Mercantile, 1430 Dresden Drive, in Brookhaven.
