in a pickle

August 31, 2011

Several years ago, Glenda Valentine took a jar of Wickles pickles to her family’s Thanksgiving dinner in Southern California.

The sweet and spicy sweet pickles were a hit. Even when she can’t visit, the Georgia woman sends a jar for a holiday celebration.

The Dadeville, AL, company uses a 70-year-old family recipe to make its best-selling, kosher pickles. Eat the pickles alone, with BBQ or slap them on a burger.

Other “wickedly delicious” favorites include the hoagie and sub relish (personal favorite), banana pepper rings —  all in the same brine. Okra lovers should try Wickles Wicked Okra straight out of the jar or with a Bloody Mary.

Check your favorite food stop for Wickles or find them at www.simsfoods.com. A 16-ounce jar of pickles is $4.95. A case (12) is $48.
