play dress up

August 30, 2011

When McCall Wilder and her friends couldn’t find simple, elegant and heirloom-quality clothes for their young children, she decided to design and create some.

In 2001, the UGA grad and former CNN staffer, launched a baby line of hand-made baptism gowns and special-occasion dresses and outfits, using sustainable fabrics and offering old-world details, like hand embroidery.

Since then, her Atlanta-based company has expanded to include more custom and ready-to-wear children’s sizes – and more styles.

While the embroidered baby pillows are a year-round favorite, the blue jumpers, made of feather wale corduroy, are fresh for fall. The dresses ($200 and up) feature hand-embroidered lazy daisies and hand-scalloped hems.
