pillow talk

August 15, 2011

When it comes to throw pillows, some decorators subscribe to the philosophy of more, more, more. For others, less is more.

No matter what your pillow preference is, don’t underestimate the power of pillows to add personality and a finishing touch to a room.

For a timeless look, consider designer pillows from Smyrna-based Lacefield Designs. Beth Lacefield, the company’s founder and director, studied interior design at the University of Georgia.

In the photo, from left to right, are some of the company’s new designs and colors: A 13-inch-by-19-inch mud linen lumbar pillow with fretwork trim ($150); a 20-inch square appliqué, screen-print linen pillow ($168); a 13-inch-by-19-inch chartreuse woven lumbar pillow with fretwork trim ($150); a 20-inch square Marrakesh pillow in graphite; and a 20-inch square chartreuse woven pillow with jute fringe.
