in the cards

July 24, 2011

Elaine Callahan of Decatur, GA, celebrates the beauty of garden-fresh food in some of her art work.

Take her colorful note cards. One set (below) features cheery cherries, beans and watermelon slices. Another set  includes Southern favorites, such as okra and plump peaches.

A graphic designer and watercolor painter, Callahan’s focus on fruits and vegetables coincided with her diagnosis with celiac (gluten intolerance) in 2007. Today, a bubbly Callahan is healthy and living a gluten-free life.

A set of eight cards (two each of four images) with garden-green envelopes, is $15. Find her cards at www.elainecallahan.com and the new home décor and gift store, Roost, 32 N. Avondale Road, Suite C, Avondale Estates. 404-297-1800 or (www.shoproost.net).
